Kia ora! Welcome to our wilderness!
Join us for a horse riding adventure you will never forget.

Located at the foot of the great mountains Ruapehu and Tongariro at the heart of the North Island of Aotearoa, New Zealand, these horse treks offer a unique adventure that you will never forget. This is the outback of Pure New Zealand and it's truly our natural 'middle earth'. Riding through native bushlands, across river valleys that rise up to the high points to see the mountains and wildlife, this is a very special way to see New Zealand nature at its best, riding quality horses that suit the conditions and a range of confidence levels. As your Guide, I have been raised in this region and I have a great deal of experience. My respect for the horses, the environment and the Maori history here is very special to me and it's knowledge I am happy to share. My long-standing relationships with landowners give us riding access to enviable locations unlike any place in the world. Our horses are reliable, they've been raised and acclimatised to the conditions we ride in, and the gear we use including western saddles give you better comfort, stability and safety. Our clients keep telling us these horse trek experiences are awesome, so we've simply named the business 'Horsemtrails'. Kia kaha (be brave),
